Moskosels pearl
The Navvy museum, Rallarmuseet, is located in the village Moskosel and lies 45 km from Arvidsjaur in the old station-building in Moskosel.
North of Moskosel lays the village Kåbdalis, which is the place where the north and south end of Inlandsbanan was joined together in 1936. Inlandsbanan is 1288 km long and reaches from Kristinehamn in the south up to Gällivare in the north and is built by sweat, muscles, iron bar levers, shovels and barrows. The workers worked 10 hours per day except for Saturdays when they only worked for 5 hours and free on Sundays. But worst working hour’s hade the chefs who cooked food for the navvy every day and therefor never were free. More history of the navvies hard work and life will you here of at the museum, where they also offers guided tours.
At the museum there is also a café, handicraft shop and mini railway for the children. New this year is the exhibition of the tragic train accident in Akkavare.
